Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Valley Mall Optometry a proud provider of vision care products and services in El Monte.


Dr. Donna M. Hong, O.D.

Dr. Donna M. Hong received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Doctor of Optometry Degree at the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO). She did her clinical rotations at Eye Care Associates in Nevada, Center for the Partially Sighted in Santa Monica and Optometric Center of Los Angeles (OCLA). Dr. Hong’s research paper on “Functional Visual Outcomes of Cataract Surgery in Patients with 20/20 or Better Preoperative Visual Acuity” was published in the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (2009).  Dr. Hong serves on the Board of Directors for the San Gabriel Valley Optometric Society and received the Project Keep Leadership Award in 2009 at the COA House of Delegates Conference. She is passionate about her profession and is an active member of the California Optometric Association (COA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). Dr. Hong can also perform eye examinations in Spanish and Vietnamese. She currently has two office locations: Commerce Center Optometry (Commerce) and Valley Mall Optometry (El Monte). When she is not working, Dr. Hong enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
